The C.H.S. football team pulled out a close win 27 – 18 this past Friday when they traveled to South Dearborn to take on the Knights. Solid defense by both teams and some early miscues by the visiting Spartans created a low scoring first half as both teams were only able to put up 6 points in the first 24 minutes of play. The second half was a bit different as both teams were able to come up with some big plays on the offensive side of the ball and the game turned into an back and forth affair until the final minutes. Defensively the Spartans were able to force three turnovers, Nathan Flowers, Zack McQueen, and Alec Atkins doing the honors with all three of them picking off a Knights pass. The Spartan offense was once again led by seniors Dalton Dubois and Donovan Foreman. Both of them with over 100 yards rushing and a score. The pair even connected on the Spartans only pass of the night which went from Foreman to Dubois for a 66 yard score. Next week the Spartans will travel to Rushville for the annual ‘War On 44″.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
