The C.H.S. football team is still in search of it’s first win after falling to Greensburg @ Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday. For a third week in a row the Spartans played well in burst but were unable to do it consistently enough on either side of the ball to compete for a win. The Spartans had a solid opening drive that consisted of 15 plays and ate almost 7 1/2 minutes off the clock. Following that drive they had a hard time stringing anything together offensively. Landon Cerqua had his best night of the season with 12 carries for 85 yards and pulled in 2 receptions for 20 yards. Offensive lineman Carter James continued his consistent and impressive play as did wide receiver/defensive back Braxton Myers. Freshman Gavin Jones earned his first varsity start and performed well at his defensive end position. Despite the loss it was a great experience for the team to play on the same field as many of their football role models. The C.H.S. athletic administration and the staff at Lucas Oil Stadium made this a special day for the members of the Spartan Football Program and they are truly grateful. The Spartans will get another opportunity next Friday when they travel to South Dearborn to take on the Knights. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
