Spartans News · J.V. Football Wins Big

A big offensive output and a strong defensive effort gave the Spartan junior varsity football team it’s largest margin of victory this season as they defeated Jennings County 40 – 12.  Several Spartans had big nights on both sides of the ball.  Strong defensive performances were turned in by Chance Bentley, Dakota Riebsomer, Brayden Lykins, Jacob Ammerman, and Cody Hauger all with tackles for loss.   Hauger,  Riebsomer and Lanedon Frye also recorded a q.b. sack.  Brayden Pearson had a nice pass break-up and linebacker Gavin Frank had another solid night.  Offensively the Spartans also had several players with big nights.  Quarterback Gavin Pearson threw for 2 T.D.’s and ran for 2 T.D.’s.  Cyle Siefert rushed for 150 yards and a score.  Carter Deboard ran for just over 100 yards and a T.D.  Lucas Barron hauled in 3 receptions 1 of them for a T.D. and B. Lykins scored on a reception from Pearson as well.  It was a great team effort and a big win for the young Spartan squad.
