Spartans News · IHSAA Student Advisory Committee—Chooses Rudy!

Connersville High School will be represented, by Rudy Branstetter, the next two years on the IHSAA Student Advisory Committee(SAC).  Each IHSAA member school has the ability to nominate one student, that will be a rising Junior, to be a part of the SAC.  This year sixty-nine member schools nominated a student for this committee for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years.  The initial nominees were then paired down to 20 that received an interview by the current IHSAA SAC members.  After the interviews of all 20 finalists were completed, the top 9 nominees were selected to join the returning 9 members of the current IHSAA SAC.  During his tenure on the SAC, Rudy will be involved with the following:
*Attend four meetings per year
*Attend Annual Fall Retreat
*Attend an IHSAA State Championship during each season (fall, winter, and spring)
*In addition, attend Football and Basketball State Championships
*Plan and attend a Fall Area Student Meeting
*Plan and attend the annual IHSAA Student Leadership Conference

In addition to the required responsibilities listed above, the IHSAA SAC is partners with Special Olympics in the Champions Together program and he will be involved in activities for the Special Olympics.

Rudy becomes only the second student from CHS to serve on this committee.  Previously, Olivia McMillan, served on the SAC from 2013-2015.

Congratulations to Rudy on such an outstanding honor.
