The 7th Red Boys Basketball team traveled to Lincoln Monday night and jumped out to a quick 15-4 lead after one period of play. Lincoln took a quick 3-0 lead as they knocked down their first shot of the game from behind the arc but it would be their only field goal of the half as free throws were their only other points for a score of 22-9 at the break. The Spartans continued to pull away from the Eagles in the later stages of the game with good inside play from Maxwell Wright and Zaine Bentley as Connersville outscored Lincoln 14-3 in the third quarter. The final period was more of the same which allowed the Spartans to pull off the 51-21 victory.
Leading the way for the Spartans was Maxwell Wright and Zaine Bentley with 15 points each. Keegan Hurley and Logan Young also chipped in 7 and 5 points, respectively. Hunter Allen had come great passes for assists as well as adding 4 of his own points. Brandt Lykins knocked down a late 3-point basket and Hunter Carpenter rounded out the Spartan scoring with a lay-up.
The Spartans are now 8-3 on the season and host Franklin County at Spartan Arena for their last action of the season.
