The 7th Red Boys Basketball team made the short trip to Union County Thursday night to play in their fourth game in as many days. The Spartans played one of their best games of the season on both ends of the floor picking up a decisive 36-13 victory. The Patriots put up a good fight in the opening period taking an early lead before Connersville knotted it up at 8 apiece. The Spartans took advantage of some open looks in the second period as they knocked down 5-of-9 from behind the arc as they only allowed a free throw on the defensive end. Connersville never looked back in the second half as they secured the victory.
Eight players made the scoring column on the night with none in double digits for a great team win. Leading the way was Logan Young who had a fantastic game on both ends of the floor. Logan poured in 9 points and had countless deflections and steals. Keegan Hurley was not far behind with 8 points while Hunter Allen and Zaine Bentley each added 5. Maddox Greenwell knocked down a three-point basket in the big second quarter while Gavin Brannon, Paolo Amora and Max Wright each had a bucket to help the cause.
The Spartans improve their record to 5-2 on the season and host the rescheduled 7th grade Connersville Invitational Saturday morning as the play Rushville. The second game will be Centerville versus Greenfield.
