Connersville 7th Red knocked off some dust as they played their first game in almost a month on Monday night. The Spartans came out hot on offense putting up a quick 14 first quarter points. Defensively we gave up 8 points in the first period and that is too many but after a couple of adjustments the boys did a great job of shutting down the Yellow Jacket attack as they only allowed 4 second quarter points while scoring 16 of their own. The Spartan lead was never in doubt the second half
Leading the way for the Spartans was Zaine Bentley with 14 points followed closely by Maddox Greenwell with 11. Maxwell Wright chipped in 6 while Keegan Hurley added 4. Aiden Gibbs knocked down a big three with Brandt Lykins, Gavin Brannon and Logan Young all chipping in 2 each. Hunter Carpenter led the Spartans in rebounds with 5.
The Spartans are in action again Tuesday when they host Knightstown in Spartan Arena.
