The boys’ reserve team finished the weekend with a victory over Shelbyville, 58-48. Connersville got off to a good start in the first half winning both the first and second quarter by 4 points each. Shelbyville’s full court pressure sped Connersville up in the second half and forced them into turning the basketball over. Spartans, however, showed great poise in the second half by knocking down free throws to put Shelbyville away, but not before Shelbyville got back within 3 points mid- way through the 4th quarter. Connersville’s half court offense was too much for Sheblyville’s pressure as the Spartans out scored the Golden Bears 21-20 in the final period. Luke Sullenbarger led Connersville with 18 points and Lucas Barron had 13. They will get another test next Saturday, December 14th, as they hit the road for the first time this season to take on Pendleton Heights. Tip off is at 6:00.
