On a perfect day for running, the boys cross country team took full advantage to have their best race of the season thus far. Conner Greenwell led the charge with his 17th place finish, just 2 seconds out of All-Conference honors. He was followed across the line by Sean Brown in 27th place. Jeremy Jergensen (36th), AJ Napier (37th), and Austin Wenta (38th) ran in a tight pack to round out the scoring for the Spartans. Michael Milano was the final Spartan runner in 44th place.

Coach Arndt’s comments: “I think the boys fed off of the energy from the girls race, seeing them run like they did, and decided it do it as well. Conner was in about 30th place at the 1K and moved up nicely, passing several runners over the second half of the race. The other boys got out well and did a good job of maintaining position as the race progressed. With sectionals coming up, we’re heading in the right direction.”

The boys will travel to the Batesville Invite on Tuesday.
